Review by Special Operations Dude
Watch Rating I must concur with the previous reviewer who points out some major faults this watch has as a true "divers" watch. However as a diver myself I always seriously ask, who uses a nice watch for diving these days anyway? You use a dive computer and watch you can afford to lose or have banged up. Expensive multi purpose watches made for diving like Rolex, Bulgari, Breitling, are both too nice to take diving and no more useful then a ~100 dollar Casio or Timex FOR diving.
Now this watch, is great for causal wear and it does get appreciated by people. With the leather band, huge face, and knobs it's not for formal wear exactly. It's perfect watch for fitting in between your ($$$) formal wear watch and your field or sports watch. I actually have the white face and larger leather band that the watch sits on.

Watch Rating As an avid diver and watch enthusiast, I must respectfully rebut the prior reviews. First of all I must start off by stating that the Sottomarino Otaria SM50095-L is a good looking watch. But that is all that it is. The design of this wathch defeats it's purpose. This watch does not have any of the necessary qualities essential for a true dive watch. First and formost I personally would not wear this watch in a tub. The watch has a push down crown which is counterintuitive to the standards excepted in the industry. One must be a true idiot to dive with this watch "to submerge into the the great unknowns." The only thing known is that a true dive watch does not allow for the bezel to turn clock, hence increasing dive time and air capacity. However if one truly wants to get wet, I do not recommend wearing any and all leather bands into salt water; However if you are a true dare devil you can try washing dishes with this watch on. Just make sure you don't scratch the crystal because I believe that it is not saphire. With all that being said, it is a ok looking watch. (Posted on 4/28/11)

Watch Rating This watch is a must for those that appreciate fine craftsmanship and the durability and stability necessary to submerge into the great unknowns! It is actually forged from solid stainless steel and has a very sturdy and thick leather band. I get complements on this watch all of the time! Guys are always asking to see my watch and asking what brand it is. Overall, it's just fantasmic! Oh, and I love the trident/second hand w/red tip, eXtreme plus! (Posted on 10/15/09)
